The basement was unfinished when they bought the home, and as the friend groups grew so did their ideas for an entertaining space. They had a bunch of great design ideas and asked for some help figuring out where to start and how to avoid causing headaches down the road. We provided some ways to keep their goals cost effective, some reliable products to use and more. This space keeps getting better!

new spaces in the basement

A simple goal of finishing the flooring in the basement family room brought a few questions. They liked the idea of wood-plank tile, but asked for some tips and tricks, as well as how to finish off the base molding. We recommended they switch the tile direction plan to disguise some curvy walls, and ease their DIY install. When it came time for the carpentry, we helped with installation of the base molding they picked to tie in with the existing door trim.

Previous owners started renovations, and fizzled. This couple bought it with the vision of a cottage to host the family. They wanted some guiding for the whole project. We collaborated with them and their local contractors to reimagine the whole floor plan, improve the roof structure, add space with trusses, and more. A group effort brought the project home.
