our project
To build and encourage the building of homes that balance efficiency, aesthetics, and enduring quality.
FOUNDING PRINCIPLE HOMES
My custom home building career began as a love for woodworking and architectural design. I found an outlet in the luxury home sector as a carpenter, and then a project manager. Over the past decade, my passion has become collaborating with clients to bring their ideas to life using a rigorous attention to detail. I work to help people transform their environment into something that speaks to their personal style, while retaining architecturally congruent design, utilizing the technologies at the forefront of building science, and above all, top level quality building practices.
This is what Principle Homes was founded upon.
I wanted people to be connected with their space, and that starts by being connected with the process. With the goal in mind for a building company to connect people in this way, I set about crafting an enduring foundation to it: the principles I hold onto while crafting homes.
I believe the hours, months, and years that go into an idea like a home deserve to be curated by a process with the same level of intention and persistence.
we started consulting with an idea too…
“In my time as an employee in the residential construction industry, I got the feeling that there were homeowners that needed something more than what the industry had to offer: someone to help them reach the answer that is right for them.
There are plenty of reasons for home projects. We want to improve how we experience the spaces around us. Sometimes the project is small, sometimes it’s the whole home. Every project has its own character, just like its homeowner.
Where to begin?
For a homeowner, the industry can feel like a fog to navigate. Trying to fit in a company’s schedule, building codes, zoning restrictions, building science, material costs, who to call, who not to call. Then calling a professional contractor can feel like a commitment before you have even started. And DIY can come with more questions than answers. The internet can tell us how to do something, but what is best for our home?
For me carpentry is the best part; but the collaboration is the most rewarding. I want to make home projects accessible and home construction as enjoyable for you as it is to me. You should be able to have a candid, transparent idea of what you are getting into.
Inspiration, navigation, technical know-how… I want to equip you to know where to begin, and how to get your home where you are going.
You should get to decide how much or how little help you want, with one goal in mind: find the answer that’s best for you.
Let’s talk about your project.”
